There’s not much more excitement in our house than on pancake day… Deliciousness!
But a squeezy bottle takes the event to a whole new level.
Best thing is to use a batter that is not too thin, as otherwise it won’t hold its shape. It’s also important to have a really hot pan for the batter to ‘take’ straight away. A flat spatula works well for flipping, but a design that is very open or less joined up will be a bit harder to work with and more likely to break.
I used this batter:
2 whole eggs
1 cup of milk
1 cup of flour
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp sugar
Butter or sunflower oil spray for the pan.
Pour straight away in a squeezy bottle and let your imagination run wild!
Make sure you add fat to the pan otherwise your designs will look very pretty but will not leave the pan…
Don’t despair if the first pancake doesn’t quite work out, it’s all a warm up act, and it will tell you how to adjust the temperature or the batter (bit more flour if too liquid or milk if too thick!)
