So you like what you see here and you’d like your very own piece of karuski original artwork. That’s fine! First of all, get in touch with me at email@example.com.
I work from photos and whatever information you care to share with me. I start with a pencil sketch that you get to review and approve before I move on to inking and good old felt-tip technology to commit your masterpiece to eternity.
I generally draw on A3 paper, so people are about 15 cm high or so.
What I need from you
Pictures, to start with with – preferably 3 to 4 per person. Profiles and full length are good, but not necessarily together. I just need to build a good understanding of the person in question.
Then the fun bits: clothes, accessories, hobbies, shoes, jewellery, toys, whatever it is that will make the drawing all the more personal. Eye colour is essential as well, as it’s rarely that clear on pictures. And cats and dogs of course, or any other pet if applicable.
A bit of your time: if you can review sketches, then it will really help make sure I get this entirely right (especially important when I don’t meet my subjects!).
How long will it take?
Generally, I can turn these around within a week, but if it needs to be faster, I’ll do what I can to accommodate you. Remember that the postal service might not be quite so generously enclined, and if you’re in Australia, you’ll have to add a good 10 days to receive your artwork.
So in short it depends, but I’ll work with your timings.
How much does it cost?
Family portraits start at £100 for 3 people, but will be influenced by what you want – after all, these are completely personalised! So if you live in a farm with all your extended family, we’ll need to talk (oh this would be so much fun!). Count £30 for each extra person. Pets come free! I can draw backgrounds as well, choose a lovely background and even frame the picture if you wish at an extra charge.
Family trees are quite a lot of work, but for a ‘full’ set of grand-parents, parents, children and grand-children, so prices start at £200 and will depend on requirements and size of artwork (A3 will be cheaper than A2). I’ve been commissioned to do anything from 4 people to 45 people so far!
Now if you fantasise about turning your family into a Star Wars dynasty or centaurs and nymphs, again, why not? I’m always game! Let’s see what we can do. If you have something in mind, I sure want to hear about it!
Basically, this is all depending on what you’re after, but what you can be sure of, is that you will get something completely unique and very personal.
